Emmerson Mnangagwa re-elected as Zimbabwe president

Incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa has been re-elected as Zimbabwe’s president. 75-year-old Mnangagwa, of the ruling ZANU-PF party, won 50.8 percent against Nelson Chamisa, of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance.


India’s GDP growth to rise to 7.5% this fiscal

India’s economy is expected to clock GDP growth of 7.5% in this financial year according to a Morgan Stanley report. The growth recovery will remain robust, supported initially by consumption and exports.


Vijay Thakur Singh appointed as Secretary in the MEA

Vijay Thakur Singh was today named secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), according to an official order. Singh is a 1985 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service.


Fortune 500 list of world’s largest companies released

Seven Indian companies have been listed in Fortune 500 list 2018 of world biggest corporations. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is the highest ranked company from India followed by RIL which jumped 55 places. The US-based retail company, Walmart has topped the list.


RBI retains GDP growth at 7.4% in FY19

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Urjit Patel said that Monetary Policy committee (MPC) has projected the GDP growth at 7.4% for this fiscal year as in the June statement.
